Dentures

Dentures

Dentures are prosthetic teeth made from a combination of dental-grade ceramic and gum-colored acrylic. The acrylic forms the base for the denture, while the ceramic is used to make the replacement prosthetic teeth. Since dentures are removable, they form an excellent replacement for missing natural teeth due to their convenient nature and ease of handling.

Why should you choose dentures?

  • Dentures are one of the best ways to replace multiple missing teeth.
  • Since they are removable, they can be worn and taken off as and when required, such as while cleaning your mouth or the dentures.
  • They can be customized as required to match the aesthetics of your smile.

  • Dentures allow you to bite and chew food as you always do with all your natural teeth intact.
  • Dentures can be personalized to replace all the teeth in your mouth, or just a few selected missing ones according to the requirement.
  • They are highly durable, allowing you to carry out your routine oral functions without worrying about the dentures sustaining damage.

How are dentures made?

The dentist would take scans and x-rays of your mouth to understand the contour of your jaw ridges and determine your candidacy for dentures. The scans will be used to create a digital mold or impression of your oral setup, which serves as a reference for fabricating the dentures. It will be sent to a dental laboratory, where the prostheses will be made within a couple of weeks.

Once the dentures are available, the dentist will schedule a follow-up consultation for you. The prostheses will be placed in your mouth and checked for perfect fit and comfort. In case you need any alterations to be made to the dentures, we will make them and provide perfectly fitting dentures to you.

What are partial dentures?

Partial dentures are similar to conventional dentures, except that they replace only a selected set of missing teeth from the mouth. They are backed by a metal framework to hold the prosthetic teeth together, which also gives them the required strength and structural stability. Partials can be taken off just like traditional dentures and placed back in the mouth without any hassle.
