I've had a fantastic experience with Natural Smiles year after year! Dr. Kumar always takes the time to explain any issues that come up and good treatment options. He did a crown for me years ago. It was an easy process- just 2 appointments about a week apart, and the work done was phenomenal! I haven't had any issues with it all these years later. Also, his office is very calming, which is great if you get nervous about dental procedures. And he is never in a rush, which makes me feel confident that his work will be done well every time. Highly recommend!

I decided to get a second opinion and through word of mouth, I thankfully found Natural Smiles and everything from the approach in holistic care really drew my attention to this practice! Had to get my wisdom teeth taken out a couple years ago. Was not looking forward to the procedure but was relatively pain free. Did not need anesthesia and was able to drive home afterward. Next to no swelling and pain over the next few days. The only reason I'm writing this now after a couple years is that I was randomly thinking about my procedure and remembered how much better an experience it was than most of my friends have talked about.

Per a recommendation from my doctor, I was looking for a "biological"/holistic dentist who understands whole body health and uses ozone to clean around teeth. Initially, I chose one that was closer to me. That one brought me disappointment. Although that practice was very high tech and credentialed, I felt overwhelmed by the many procedures they were recommending and the enormous cost. They also did not participate with any insurance and sought substantial deposits in advance of appointments. Then, I found Natural Smiles. What a WONDERFUL difference! Before I made an appointment, I asked to speak with Dr. Kumar to make sure I understood his approach to dentistry and felt comfortable. He called me back in a few days and we had a good conversation. The friendly receptionist was able to quickly schedule an appointment for me and my son in the same timeslot. Interestingly, the office is located in an older building, has one of those old-fashioned water dispensers with a cup that you could fill as needed from your dental chair, and had very upbeat oldies music playing. I felt like I had gone back in time...in a good way. We were welcomed by all of the staff. Dr. Kumar took a look at us, explained what he saw, ran a highly accurate insurance-based cost estimate on the spot, x-rayed, cleaned and repaired teeth. He was kind, highly professional, provided what we needed, and was affordable!! We will definitely be coming back!!

Excellent dentist!! My wife and I have been seeing Dr Kumar for about 2-3yr since moving to Reston from DC. We love how detailed he is and how he uses a holistic, "whole person" approach to his practice. Excellent practice! I live one hour away and it is worth the drive to come to this office. Everyone in the office is kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Dr. Kumar takes plenty of time to explain what he is doing and what options there are for treatment. He uses a holistic approach to dentistry and because of this he addresses the root causes of dental issues, he doesn't just put a bandaid on the problem. I brought all three of my young children and everyone was patient with them as well. Highly recommend!

I went to see Dr. Kumar's office after visiting another holistic dentist in the surrounding area that wanted to charge me over $10,000 to get crowns for my two front teeth, that was out of network and most likely not covered by my insurance. Dr Kumar and their staff are kind, holistic, and affordable. They understood my financial situation and only recommended things that I absolutely needed. They certainly were not out there to take advantage of me financially! I came to see Dr. Kumar because I had terrible cavities on my two front teeth. I was afraid to smile in person and in photos and it was causing me low self-esteem issues. My new crowns look so real, natural, and match my other normal teeth identically. Definitely a great dentist and would highly recommend!! All of the staff is wonderful and very helpful. Occasionally, there is an office dog that is there. That always helps to lower my anxiety when I get to see a friendly animal at the dentist! Dr. Kumar is very easy to talk to and not intimidating. I am so grateful to have this dentist in the metro area. He is very ethical and kind and listens, unlike many other dentists I’ve tried. I had a root canal go bad and wanted the infected tooth out. All the other dentists I went to wouldn’t extract the tooth, only wanted to redo the root canal. My son also had two crowns go bad and needed an extraction. I went to three dentists before going back to Dr Kumar who took the infected tooth out same day, not making us come back for multiple visits and then refusing to take it out like the other dentists in the area. He actually listens to your concerns and offers alternatives depending on your individual needs. These other commercial dentists just follow the same toxic protocols for every patient and if you disagree they refuse to see you. I highly recommend this dentist if you care about your health and don’t want to be coerced into unneeded and unnecessary procedures. He is respectful, ethical and kind, attributes that are hard to come by these days!

Great experience I had a tooth pulled and didn’t even know Dr. Kumar was done. He is great and I wouldn’t go any where else. I still travel more than one hour to see him after I moved away. He also did bone graft in case I wanted to get an implant instead of a bridge in the future. Not only that he answers all my questions he takes time to make me feel relaxed.

I was a patient of Dr. Kumar when he was at his previous location. So when they closed unexpectedly I followed him to his new practice. A few weeks ago, I had to get impressions done for an immediate denture. I have a horrible gag reflex that makes it very difficult for him to get the impressions he needs. Despite the difficulty it presented him, he never got frustrated and worked with me to find a way that allowed him to get the impression and prevented me from gagging. The other day I had to have 7 teeth extracted as well as getting denture. He did an excellent and painless job with the process. He took his time and explained what he was going to do and answered all my questions. He and his staff are supportive of their patients and show an active and sincere interest in how they are doing. Top notch dentist, I plan on being a long time patient.

What a great experience, and that's to say a lot because well... it's a dentist office. What brought me here was the more natural/holistic approaches to dental care for me and my family. The staff was friendly from the beginning to the end. All questions and concerns were answered. It gave me such a comfortable feeling, not something you come across these days, they are usually cold. January 2020 Dr. Kumar is AWESOME! I went to him after my husband had a great experience during his cleaning. Dr. Kumar listened to all of my dental concerns and he came up with a top notch treatment plan for me. They are more than happy to let the kids play in the waiting area so I can actually go to my appointment even when I don’t have a babysitter (the office is pretty small so it’s easy to keep an eye on them and hear them the whole time). Dr. Kumar is my regular dentist and I also went to him for teeth whitening and am SO happy with the results. The price is on par with the average cost of teeth whitening, my other dentist I've gone to for whitening wanted to charge me $800 for JUST the top or bottom (so $1600 total) so I am very happy with the much more reasonable price here for the same exact thing. The experience was very pleasant, he even had a stand that held an iPad with Netflix on it so you can watch a show while you wait for the bleaching agent on your teeth. Results will vary, but my teeth got up to a 1 or 2 which is highest level. It is white but it is still a natural color and the results have lasted very, very well. Thank you!

Honestly the BEST dental center in the DMV, in my opinion. These guys are so caring, professional, and do such a great job every single time I come in for an appointment. Honestly the BEST dental center in the DMV, in my opinion. Dr. Kumar has been helping me with my teeth for over a year now, and when I heard he opened up his own practice, I had to go to show support. These guys are so caring, professional, and do such a great job every single time I come in for an appointment. If you are considering going to Natural Smiles, I would say definitely go because you'll enjoy your experience and you'll leave with a better smile, guaranteed.

I won't be avoiding the dentist's office anymore, now that I've switched to Natural Smiles. Dr. Kumar took so much time to consider my dental plan with me and to thoroughly explain all of my options. He certainly takes a patient-centric approach. Now my entire family is seeing Dr. Kumar, even my toddlers.

Helpful, knowledgeable, caring and much patience with our son. Having had to visit several different dentists to address our son's health, we are so glad to have found Dr. Kumar. Dr. Kumar and his team helped my daughter after a dental trauma she had while on vacation. He explained everything and helped her get a beautiful smile again. Our whole family started going to him. I appreciate the more natural methods they use -- and no fluoride! (Other dentists tried to guilt us into using fluoride.)
